PEN Norway congratulates Maria Ressa and Dmitrij Muratov
PEN Norway congratulates this year’s winners of the Nobel Peace Prize, Maria Ressa and Dmitrij Muratov, for their commendable efforts over many years to ensure the public access to reliable information and promote freedom of expression.
– This year’s Nobel Prize shows that journalism is peacekeeping work – even though many in power see it oppositely, says Løken Stavrum.
PEN Norway praises the Nobel Committee for promoting the guardians of a free press, journalists and others through this year’s award. – Freedom of the press is a foundation for a sustainable development of society.
