“It was claimed that the bill’s purpose was to set out procedures and principles for implementation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) decision to impose sanctions in support of their resolution, ‘Prevention of the Financing of Weapons of Mass Destruction’; but the opposition objected to provisions in the proposed law that authorised the Ministry of the Interior to impose sanctions on associations without any judicial ruling,” said Seyhan Avşar, who wrote the article.
