Anna Politkovskaya – One Year ON
On Sunday 7. October at 3 p.m., Norwegian PEN, in cooperation with the Chechen Support Committee, The Norwegian Helsinki Committee, Human Rights House Foundation and the Norwegian Journalists Association, will commemorate murdered Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya at the Nobel Peace Centre in Oslo.
The commemoration will feature piano pieces composed by one of Politkovskayas favourite composer, Norwegian Edvard Grieg, played by pianist Joachim Kwetzinsky. There will be a special screening of the short film «Crying Sun», produced by the Moscow based human rights organisation Memorial, as well as speeches and readings by writer Aage Borchgrevink, journalist Åsne Seierstad, chechen writer Musa Mutaev and Norwegian PEN president Anders Heger.
